Our Visit to the Wellcome Collection
Friday, 10th January 2025
Last Friday, we had an amazing day at the Wellcome Collection in London! We were invited to take part in a special workshop run by the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). It was all about being creative, having fun, and learning about inclusion and disability through art.
First, we explored Jason Wilsher-Mills’ awesome art exhibition. His artwork was so colourful and full of stories—it gave us lots of ideas for our own creations!
Next, we got to work in the workshop. We made puppets, worked in groups, and created THREE stop-motion animation films. That’s right—movies made by us! It was so cool to see our ideas come to life on the big screen during the review session at the end of the day.
We were also thrilled to receive a very special gift—lightboxes donated to our school! These will help us create even more exciting projects in the future, and we’re so grateful to BAAT for their generosity.
We had a fantastic time using our imaginations and learning new things. Everyone was so friendly, and we even got lunch, snacks, and all the art supplies we needed.
A big thank you to the amazing people at BAAT who made this happen! It was such a special day, and we’ll always remember how fun it was to create something together. We can’t wait to use the lightboxes back at school for more creative adventures! 😊
