    Published 23/06/26

On Wednesday 17th June 2026, six pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 proudly represented Richard Cobden Primary School at a reading competition hosted by The Hall School in Highgate.

Our representatives — Maysa from 6J, Ameerah from 6I, Norah from 5B, Aurora from 5L, Fatima and Maryam from 4C — were chosen after winning their individual class competitions. They then went on to take part in the finals against pupils from four other Camden primary schools.

The standard of the competition was extremely high, with all participants demonstrating excellent expression, tone, articulation and pace in their reading. After a very impressive final, the judges announced Richard Cobden Primary School as the overall winner.

We were also delighted that Fatima, Norah and Ameerah won their individual year group competitions for Years 4, 5 and 6. This was a fantastic achievement and a very proud moment for our school.

Well done to all six pupils for their hard work, confidence and wonderful reading. You have made Richard Cobden extremely proud!
