Year 5 have been working with the organisation Be the Band on an exciting new music project over the past few weeks.
Year 4 had a fantastic day meeting the animals at London Zoo, many of which they had never seen before. They particularly enjoyed observing the sleeping sloths, baby gorillas learning to walk and lion cubs cuddled up with their mother and father!
Our Year 6 Code Club students were given the incredible opportunity to tour the Google offices in London and engage in inspiring conversations with Googlers. It was an enriching experience, sparking excitement and curiosity about the world of technology.
As part of Year 4’s science learning about classification, the children visited Hampstead Heath’s secret garden. They went long grass catching and pond dipping to find different living things, discovering newts, leeches, grasshoppers and so much more!
This week Year 5 zoomed over to Sifted for the finale of their car design DT project. Our enthusiastic car designers applied the final coat of paint, installed rubber tyres and affixed their very own registration numbers to their handcrafted car models. With the chassis ready and raring to go, these mini-masterpieces will make their debut in a school assembly next week.
As part of our Eid celebrations this week, Year 4 had a go at decorating cupcakes.
Reception have enjoyed learning about winter. In December the children noticed that the weather had turned colder and that the leaves had completely fallen off some of the trees. The children did lots of painting and winter crafts (including making their own snowflakes) and they loved doing an experiment about how to melt ice!
Our Code Club members embarked on a mission to program compasses on Micro:bits this week. The objective was to make their Micro:bits point in the right direction. The coders were triumphant at the end of the session when their compasses were pointing north!
